“Love is a Hazard”

 

1. Love looks very dangerous, why would anyone want it?

2. I’ve seem games and cheats, in each case it seemed like a waste of time.

3. In fact, I’ve seen more messy break-ups than words that can rhyme!

4. Love just seems like a road to a saddening split.

5. And people who newly find love - it’s as if they’ve fallen into a pit!

6. They seem to be in a heavenly trance as they climb to the relationship’s prime

7. Where they believe their love will last for a lifetime.

8. Although that is true for some, most experience a disappointment I don’t want in the least bit.

9. But -- what if I am part of the some?

10. The some that is able to experience bliss with The One?

11. To think of the warmth of a special person’s arms! What have I become?

12. To not experience the heartbreak of a commitment undone

13. Is a false hope that makes me feel dumb. But it also makes me want to succumb

14. To the idea that one day, living with the right person, I can say to love that I had won
