Our Words and Ideas: Freshman Year
The Fight
-
He says he won’t start a fight,
-
Even though he’s ready to be in one.
-
He’s in a state of twilight,
-
Desperate for some fun.
-
Only in self defence,
-
That’s what his mama told him.
-
Says it’s common sense.
-
In a tone that is oh so grim.
-
But does that make him innocent,
-
Or does that make him complicit?
-
This question, oh so insignificant,
-
Wouldn’t be if he were to try to solicit
-
A fight to appease his growing appetite.
-
But does that put him in the right?
